2022 Sonoma Coast Seascape Vineyard Pinot Noir
2022 Pinot Noir
91 Points
"Coming from the West Sonoma Coast, the 2022 Pinot Noir Sesacape Vineyard is from a late-ripening site with sandy soils, located next to Cobb’s Coastlands Vineyard, just west of Occidental. This is the second vintage for this wine, which was aged for 10 months in 20% new French oak. In the glass, it pours a medium ruby/red color and opens to lifted and bright aromatics of cinnamon, pomegranate, wild strawberries, roses, and tangerine. Linear and fresh, it offers fine tannins and a clean, salty, juicy finish. It's quite charming now and will continue to offer a lot of pleasure over the next 5-7 years."
About This Wine
Redwood groves to the east, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and a small, sunny ridge top planted to Pinot Noir in between - that is the picturesque Seascape Vineyard, sitting 1,150 feet above Bodega Bay. A beautiful, captivating vineyard – which is helpful while patiently waiting for it to ripen, as it is the last vineyard we pick almost every year.
